     Vito Caparro,80, of Hazleton passed away April 28, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

     Vito was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Peter and Catherine Caparro.

     He served in the U>S> Army during the Vietnam War and was last employed by Johnson's Pharmacy.

     Rita (Pepsi) Gills of Milnesville, passed away Saturday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

     Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clarance and Freda (Moccio) Chase.

     Rita will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother

     Preceding her  in death, in addition to her parents, were son, Chip; daughter, Deborah Ann.

     Surviving are her son, Dustin and daughters, Diana and Kelly; 14 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

     Burial took place Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery, Drums.

     Arrrangeements were under the direction of Turnbach Funeral Home 423 W. Broad St., Hazleton.

Louis Montanari

Louis Montanari, 82, formerly of Lehigh County passed away March 2 at St. Luke Pavilion, Hazleton.

Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Louis and Barbara (Latshaw) Montanari.

Louis was self employed as a contractor who spent most of his life in the Lehigh County area.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents were sister, Barbara; brothers, Carl, Tony, Gordon and Robert.

 Surviving are his children Louis Montanari III and his wife Barbara, Keith Montanari; Angelo Montanari; Angeline and her son Michael; Diane and her

children Renee, Kanaya and Sade; Judith and her daughter Jessica;  brother, Gerald;  sisters, Lucille, Mary Ann; Bernadine and many nieces and

nephews,

Alex Arce, 41, of Hazleton passed away Feb. 14, 2018 at his residence.

Born in Puerto Rico he wa the son of Sonia and the late Rafael Arce.

Joseph M. Pisura, 76, formerly of McAdoo, passed away Saturday afternoon at St. Luke Manor.

Born in Hazleton, he wa the son of the late Joseph and Sue (Butranavage) Pisura.

Joseph was a 1959 graduate of McAdoo High School and worked as a bartender.

Thelma Youron Smith

     Thelma Youron Smith, 75, of Freeland, passed away Monday afternoon at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Hazle Twp.

     Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Thelma (Houck) Youron.

     Thelma grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and attended Sarah J. Vocational School.

     As a child she spent summers in the Pocono Mountains where she later returned to raise her family.

     Thelma worked in the real estate industry for years and was employed by Fernwood and Shawnee resorts.  She loved animals, people and the outdoors and she always had room for a stray no matter if it was a person or an animal.

     She willl be greatly missed by her family and friends for her great heart and spirit.

     Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her son, Gerald May, and her sister, Anna Margaret Rubinstein.

     Surviving are her children, Michael May and wife Tina, Effort; De Swanberg-Revak and husband Jim, Hopewell, NJ; Gilbert Swanberg and wife Wendy, Freeland; Seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn S. Sauers

     Marilyn S. Sauers, 78, of Hazleton and most recently St. Lukes Manor, passed away Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.

     Marilyn was the only child born to the late August and Mabel Sauers.

     She was a graduate of Hazleton High School, where she played basketball and was a member of the advanced chorus.

     Her working career included Geisler Knitting Mill, Globe Lighting, Lucas Aserospace (where they made radios for the Army), and St. Luke's Manor as a transportation aide.

     Marilyn had a passion for bowlingd, traveling all over th United States wilth her league.  She was awarded many trophies.

     Marilyn is survived by her cousin and caregiver, Judy Tagnani, and odthser cousins.

     All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
