Anthony C. Grego, of Hazleton, passed away Thursday afternoon at his residence.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Mankoski) Grego.
Tony was a 1952 graduate of Hazleton High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Army where he served with the 82nd Airborne division. Tony worked as a truck driver for Job Johnny.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his son Robert in November 5, 2016; and a brother Joseph.
Surviving are his wife the former Dianne (Cookie) Smith; son, Anthony and his wife Yovonne. Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Trish Grego, Shavertown; grandchildren, Anthony and William Grego and Bray Vanderhoff; brothers, Robert and his wife Shirley, Texas; Vincent and his wife Donna, McAdoo; sisters, Marion Enama, Hazleton; Roseanne Grego, Hazleton and many nieces and nephews.
Tony will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved watching Nascar racing and was a loyal fan of the Eagles and Penn State football teams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in Most Precious Blood Church, Hazleton. Family and friends are invited to the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
